An Anglo Saxon Riddle

My home is not hushed, nor myself loud.
The Lord forged together
our twin fates' course. I am faster than he,
stronger sometimes, he lasts longer.
While I rest, he must run on.
I dwell in him as long as I live;
if we divide, death is my lot.
