Anastacia, Queen of the West

by Na'arah bat Avraham

When the sun shines on the tourney field
It's met by an answering gleam,
For bright as the light that shines in our hearts
Is the sight of our golden-haired queen.

Better than favours worn at the belt
Is the inspiring grace of our queen.
A salute with a sword to the side of the field
To a flaxen-framed smile, serene.

The final sight our fighters see
As they march on their warrior's quest
Is a gleaming brow that bears the crown
Of our golden-haired queen of the west.

With beauty and grace she brings light to us all
And honour to verse and to tale.
The arts she inspires and bids us admire
Does this queen with the sun-coloured veil.

So Knowne Worlde pay heed to a simple bard's song.
Our queen lays all others to rest.
In arts of the heart and others of war
Leads our blond-braided queen of the west.
