The province of Southern Shores invites all Heavy and Rapier fighters, Archers and Artisans to its Mid Summer Tourney and Demo.

Saturday Aug 4th: Mad Dog Style Charity Tourney, Archery, & Artisan Demo

Mad dog style tourney where each entrant gets 2 lives. Once those lives are expended, the fighter may buy themselves back in with the cost based in their fighting order of precedence. Viewers may also buy a fighter back in. The winner with the most victories gets to select a charity from a pre-determined list. A portion of all proceeds will be retained by Southern Shores while the remainder goes to the selected charity. Armor inspection starting at 11am fighting to commence at 12noon.

Archers will have targets available and for the Artisans there will be many an interested onlooker for you to share your love of the arts. [Artisans take note: The Fair has opened again to competition for adults please go to www.thefair.org, for more information if you should care to enter your artwork, weaving, pottery, etc. Online entries deadline July 1st ­­--The Fair is bigger every year and this year is no different.]

After all have had a full day of fun we will be hosting a non-period barbecue of Chicken and Hamburger. Please feel free to bring something to share.

Sunday Aug. 5th: Hosted Fighter Practice & Artisan Demo

All fighters and Artisans are welcome both or either day. Please come and share your interest and passion of the SCA with all that will be in attendance of the Santa Clara County Fair.

Santa Clara County Fairgrounds: 344 Tully Rd., San Jose, CA 95111 (Gate C)
We have the large grass area right next to the parking lot. Free Parking.
Sat Setup at 9am, Fair open to public at 10am, site close 9pm, Sunday 10-6

Directions: Take your best route to 101. From the North, exit at Tully Rd. to the Fairgrounds (follow the signs). Continue down Tully, cross Senter Rd. The Fairgrounds will be on the left. Gate C is to the right of the main gate. All in attendance of the Tourney and Demo will be provided with a parking pass available at gate C this is the first gate to the right of the arches at the main gate on Tully. When you enter Identify yourself as SCA and you are in.
